Cenection with monitor

Hello. when i start the computer it boots up ok then the connection between the pc to the monitor cuts off (monitor turns off) but the pc still running, i thought it was my monitor but i tried 2 different monitors and it did the same. i tried different Power supply, and memery card but still the same problem happening. does anybody know what it could be. thank you

Windows xp pro
512 mb
40gb hd
AMD athlon 64 processor
1.8 GHZ
