WIndows 10 CF-C2 Toughbook Is Whining

Hi, back again!

My Panasonic CF-C2 is putting off a really obnoxious high-pitched whine/ring. I've got tinnitus, so for the longest time I just thought it was me, but when my wife asked what was making that noise, we finally figured out it was coming from my laptop. Is there a way to fix it? This thing is incredibly handy, and I'd very much like to not have something that mimics my tinnitus if I can help it. . .

Good to know! Is that something that's relatively easy to do? As in, so easy you could train a monkey to do it? Or would I be better served taking it to a specialist?

I've got some technical training, and I'm more comfortable with hardware than I am software (hence the name), but that training has spent many years collecting dust in storage, and even then it was mostly with plug-and-play parts.

It just depends on how much of the laptop has to be taken apart. All are different and can be a pain in the ass. First, the issue should be diagnosed but most likely the cooling fan since its an old laptop 10 years old at this point it seems. If you can find disassembly instructions online somewhere, you may be able to do it.
