Change Of Motherboard

Hey guys. I have a dilemna. I am thinking of buying a new motherboard that would be able to (unlike my KT400 Ultra from MSI), to run at 200FSB without overclocking the other components as well. As far as I know, there is no divider after 166 on mine. So I was thinking of changing to a MicroStar KT880 Delta-FSR which boasts full support for 400Mhz FSB DDR. The reason I want it is because I want to be able to push my Athlon XP 1800+ currently at 2 gigs to run at 2.3. Now what will happen if I change the motherboard and leave the HDD with Windows XP Pro installed? I installed drivers specific to my motherboard etc. What would happen if I left them there and then simply changed the mobo?

Don't even think about doing that, always do a format and reinstall when changing motherboard.

And for serious overclocking get a nForce2 mobo. :)

What happens if my motherboard died before I could format my HDD?? Will I be able to reinstall windows at startup or what?

Yes you can handle all that during setup.

Ok.

Thanx for the replies. My point is this. If I choose to unistall all chipset drivers and such including my sound card drivers etc, will I be able to change the mobo while still keeping my HDD contents intact (without formatting and reinstalling Windows?).

EDIT: GOT A REPLY FROM THE BOSS AND I SHOULD DO A REFORMAT :) Dope!

It's possible but you have to remove everysingle device in the manager, I've done it this way before. But don't assume it will work, it doesn't always :)
