Changed cases and computer wont start

So I got a new case (Corsiar 400R) and tried to move my mobo from its original to the new one.

After moving it over and putting all the connections in the correct places I noticed my computer would not start.

If I unplug it for a few seconds, plug it back in and try to hit the on button my PSU's light quickly flashes then proceeds to do nothing. My PSU is a corsair GS650 Watt.
Ive had the power supply for almost a year now and has run great. i dont know if the mobo or the psu.

I even tried to put everything back in its original case and hooked everything back up and it still does the same thing. I know I have all the connections in there proper places as I clearly labeled each cord and noted where they plugged into. There are no extra cords dangling except for the few extra PSU cords.

Anyone know what might be wrong?

Take out the PSU and take a paper clip and bend it into a U shape.. The put one end on the green wire and the other to a black wire to test the power supply... It should come on.. Make sure you plug it into the wall also.. If the Power supply come on, then it NOT the PSU but something else.. Probably the front panel connection..

The motherboard is OEM.
I took the piece that turned on the computer in the old case when I went to the new case.

I have no clue which 2 pins are the power header.

Not sure what you mean, The fan Inside the PSU has to come on when the power supply comes on ... What do you mean (but not the fan it was connected to.)

Just make sure the CPU power cable is connected properly, they sometimes come loose.

Unplug the power cable and leave the psu switch on, and hold down the power button for 30 seconds.

Reinsert the power cable and try again.

It sounds to me like the PSU isn't getting a 'good signal' from the motherboard. This means either you havent sufficiently put enough stand offs on the case between the motherboard or the power cables aren't properly connected and homed.

If all this checks out, i would double check your case power button etc is properly conneted to the motherboard in the right place. Try the motherboard's own on button if it has one.

You may be missing the 4 pin plug that connects to a separate connector near the CPU. Do you have both the large connector and the 4 pin connector connected to the motherboard. Sometimes if you leave the 4 pin plug disconnected a system will come on for under a second and quickly shut back off as you stated in your original post.

Ok here is all the info I can give.

It cant be a loose connection because I definitely made sure EVERY connection either clicked in place or was snug in place. All Usb1, Usb2, Usb3, Front Panel, 24 pin, the 4 pin near the cpu, and the 8 and 6 pin for the graphics card.

My psu has no actual 4 pin clip so I been using the 6 pin which has worked before I tried changing the case.

I even tried it in its stock case which has no standoffs and it still doesnt work. Nothing has been added when I tried to swap.

The power button is correctly connected to the board.

When I was talking about the paperclip test, I did what the corsair website told me to do, paperclip in 2 pins, and connect to a case fan via molex (or however you spell it), I put the power cord in, flipped it on and it worked, I toggled on/off the light switch a few times and that was all good, but it didnt power the case fan as the corsair website said it should. unless i read it wrong.

Are you sure that you have the 6 pin inserted into the 4 pin connector properly. You'll need to find out which wire has the voltage needed...and which one on the motherboard needs that power.

If jumping the power supply to turn on does not run the fan then your power supply is dead. Have you checked all molex connectors that the fan can plug into? Power supplies usually have 2 ea. 12 volt rails. 1 might still be working while the other is dead, or maybe both are dead.

The 6 pin only fits in one way. I tried flipping it as well it fits 1 way and 1 way only

You said you had a connector for the 4 way which is one of the 6 pin connectors...and you also have an 8 pin AND another 6 pin connector for your graphics? If so, did you try swapping out the 6 pin that you're using for your graphics?

Did you happen to read the last part under comment #15? I edited that comment and by the time I had edited it completely, you had responded to the first part.

So your saying my psu could of bit the dust? its barely over a year old though. Plus why would it decide to die when it was working just fine before the case swap attempt?

Did you read the part where I said the paperclip test made the PSU turn on and its fan spun but the case fan it was connected to didnt?
