I have an older hp media center xp computer that I bought about 5 years ago and recently got a zune. Becuase the zune software wasn't compatible with the version of windows on the computer I had to upgrade to windows 2003 i believe so that the zune sync software would work. When i changed out the software, I never thought to pull the card with the coax connector (card that allows you to watch cable tv with media center). Now that I have the new version of windows going, I can use media center fine for dvds, music, videos, etc. but the computer doesn't recognize the card with the cable hookup. It doesn't see it in hardware manager or anything. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to get the coax card working again so that I can watch tv on the computer. I figure I could probably reload the new version of windows (pull the card this time) and get it to work but i was hoping to come up with something simpler. thanks

You're referring to the TV tuner, not the video card. Anyway, you said you're using Windows 2003. It sounds like you're running either XP (the non-media center edition), Vista, or Server 2003. Do you know which one?

Right click "Computer" in the start menu and click "Properties". That will tell you the correct version of Windows. Knowing the model name and number of your PC would help as well.

The system information tab when first starting PC Wizard 2008 is one way by software if you somehow lost the original paperwork or label to know the model number. The brand like Dell, HP, Gateway will always have their own logo even designed into the tower itself as well as the first post screen.

When Vista was first on here the tv tuner/video capture card was made obsolete since the software/drivers were written for 2000/XP only. The AVerMedia Ultra TV was then replaced with a newer XP model seeing software that went right on Vista namely their A180 AVerTV model.

At this time there are quite a few tuner cards out that are Vista ready. For that brand alone they run from about $70 upto $100 depending on model. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...000380047+50001409+1685342847&name=Tuner+Card
