changing amd heatsink fan

I have the stock cooler for my amd 6000+ x2 , and the fan maxes at 3k rpm and doesn't move a ton of air. I have another same size coolermaster cpu fan that moves more air, and i'm wondering if this would help with the cooling?

As long as it can fit the socket type (Socket AM2 I imagine?) it will work.

Just realized the fan wouldn't mount on this heatsink because the holes are a few mm too far apart. Silly me. Is there any way to delete threads so I can stop wasting server space?

pretty sure near the bottom on the left there is "remove thread ro something similar"
