changing cd or dvd boot

I don't know why my computer cannot boot it say all with parenthesis were disable, where all the floppy, cd ,dvd have all parenthesis in it . How can I change this so I can boot to cd or dvd? I'm using Asus motherboard for got the model number, 2.4Ghz,Window XP. Thanks for replying in advance.

Change it from disabled to enabled, then you pick the boot order.

There's no disable to enable to pick on my computer, but gonna look for it I might overlook on it. try it at night 'cause I going to work rt now,thanks.

Go in the bios, There might be a option to do it in there.

I did went to BIOS but can't figure it out there's no other to change the enable the boot setting to cd or dvd rom booting.

Sounds like you need a computer savvy friend to come over and help you out. All computers have a way to change boot order.

I did reboot finally i keep playing around until it booted and i had to put Parted magic in CD rom then resizes the Ubuntu -from 160 to equal 80Gb each on the hard drive but when i reboot to Ubuntu can't see the half of it? It says on Parted Magic interface that I had in Logical drive the other half but cannot see it in Ubuntu OS.
