Changing default program location

Hi, just got a new computer (ASUS G30) and installed a 500gb samsung ssd I planned on using for programs since the original ssd was way to small.

Basically I want ONLY my OS on the original 130gb ssd, and programs on my new 500 gb ssd. So my question is: how do I make it by default that programs are installed on the new ssd without problems?

I'm guessing this is the best way to utilise the drives? If you think there is a better way please tell me to :) (media is seperate on a third drive)

When you install software, just always be sure to do a custom install and change the installation path from C:\ to D:\ (Or whatever drive letter the new SSD is).
