hi all
i am interested in computer fields
and i am was looking for a good site where to discuss about computers and i find this one.
a great site
i want to discuss about my ip address problem
actually my broadband server has given me an ip address which i find slow in the evening time.
my friend have and option as he change his ip and his net become faster he is using airtel net.
i have bsnl is there any chances for this option with which i can make my computer`s internet more faster

Your friend probably didn't change his Ip, chances are the DHCP server assigned another one to him.
Well slow internet is not related to your IP at all, trust me, call your ISP and inform them about your problem.
there are a few so called tweaks and registry hacks to make internet faster but in my view they are really pointless.

i have called the customer care but they said they dont have option like that, and what about tweaks and registry hacks what are that ?
will it really make the internet work faster ?

I'd probably be bending the rules diagonally talking about those. :(
Google is your friend

Oh you baby :P

TCPoptimizer is a good prog. Dslreports.com can assist as well. The reason the net is slow during the evening is probably because the amount of traffic going through the pipes in your area. Damn neighbors.

Whenever I've had any problem with speeds, I just disconnect from the 'net at the router and reconnect, giving me a new IP address.

You can't manually change your IP from your ISP, you can change your local IP easily. What he may be doing is restarting his modem, because some providers will give you a new IP when you restart your modem, however if you have a static IP then it wont work.

As for the speed, it shouldn't be any faster. It problems just seems faster because his modem was reset.
