Changing Motherboards?

Im thinking about changing motherboards, from the one in the compaq presario to one with PCI-e. Im I going to have any problems with this?

if you dont intend to format your hard drive you may run into problems as your new motherboard will more than likely have a different chipset.
i've also heard that the front panel connectors on a lot of mass produced systems have a non standard connection and may not be compatible with your new board

Are you upgrading for gaming reasons? That should be the only reason because that's really the biggest advantage.

You'll need a new video card, most likely new processor, RAM and maybe an upgraded Power Supply.

It depends on how old the current motherboard is, since its a compaq alot of parts in your computer are made especially for a compaq, so you would need a new case, and possible a new cpu, psu, and new ram. I'd say you might as well buy a whole new computer.
