can't decide between these two monitors.

I agree with eliteharcker; there is virtually no difference, except the Viewsonic will have a better picture because of the higher contrast ratio.
 
Personally I would go with the Samsung just because it is a trustworthy brand and will last you a long time, but it's up to you. I would look up viewsonic and make sure it is a trustworthy brand before getting it, but if it is a good brand than I'm sure it's fine too. Samsung is just known to be good for screens, so that's why I jumped on that brand over the viewsonic.

Viewsonic is a very well known brand. Looking at the specs, the viewsonic seems superior. I love how both of them has a "Certified for Windows Vista" stamp, how could a monitor NOT working with vista:P
