my onboard video sucks and so does my budget for a new videocard. right now my most power-hungry application is call of duty (which my current video card can't play) so i'm looking for a cheap card that could play that game. i hardly know anything about how to tell what videocard is good and what isn't so i need some advice on what to get. i went to newegg.com and found all the cheapest videocards, here they are:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...TR14=&ATTR15=&ATTR16=&ATTR17=&ATTR18=&ATTR19=

i found what i think might be the best 2, here they are:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814271001
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814270002

which one is best? i know they bother probably relatively suck but i need them to be cheap

Dont go with the Volari. They may sound good by their specs, but they have horrific compatibility issues when it comes to games. Alot of games cant be played with those cards since its a fairly new company, and games arent optomized for Volari cards, so it wont run to its full potential.

I would recommend the ATI 9250, or FX5200.

I'll sell you an nVidia geForce 4000 MX cheap. It won't work on my flight simulator or Counter Strike, but it's plenty good enough for COD.

This one is 128MB and 8X AG. It's about 3 months old.
Sticker on the box says MX4000. Bar Code says:
MX4000DDR-64B-128MTV
Thats 64 bit interface. 128MB DDR with a TV output

I'm after a 7800GS for my rig.

Can provide references about my character. I have an Ebay rating and a rating on another website thats Radio Control related.

i got the videocard in my sig for 40$ at microcenter, works great, but the only game i can play on my computer is fs2004 lol

$40 is a lot for that card.

i paid $60 for my mx4000 64mb lol at walmart 2 years ago
and they still charge that much now, lol. One thing i've learned... never buy a video card at a retail store. I bought my old ATI 9200SE 128MB for $80 a few years ago.
