iam lookin for a under $1000

uh...ive been looking around herre on cf and saw 500gb of hdd is good...if more gb's for cheaper, then yes

and 2gb ram

thats a tough one, what are you using it for? it might be better to go with a Pentium D and have room for growth later, allowing more money for a better video card, bigger hard drives, faster RAM... make any sense? no sense having a great processor and nothing to let it work to its potential.

Thats the problem I ran into with my build.

I disagree, I would recommend getting an E6300, which is not much more then a Pentium D.
 
good point, either way keep the mind open so you can afford the total package, but 2 gig of quality ram is just under a third of his budget, so its alot to balance out after that. IMO. w/ 500GB of HD space(160-300 would be my recommendation)... its running out of budget fast.... have to cut corners....

are you wanting it assembled w/ OS installed or DIY?

If he has a $1000 budget, I wouldn't go spending $350 for RAM, and a 500GB HD. You can get good quality RAM for around $220 for 2GB, and a 250GB HD for around $70.
