Cheap computer...

Nope. You can't have an ATI video card in an SLI system
What? Yes you can.

Ok, now I'm confused.
Ignore what was mentioned earlier. You only have one videocard so anything that says SLI or Crossfire wont matter

I'm REALLY tight, and I mean really tight for money now..
A bit obsolete (and will be updated sometime in next few weeks) but check out
Computer Specs 101

I am not sure. Something tells me that you can't, so it would just be safer to go with an Nvidia card.
1. You can
2. Where did you read that you cant?

is the 3000+ faster or slower than an Intel 3.0ghz?
It's slower. BUt you'll probably have better performance.

errrggg...I don't know. I just thought that I did....oh I don't know.

You can. Fine.
No worries, just be sure to read up on something that seems so outrageous before passing it on verbatim (if you in fact, read it somewhere). :)
