Cheap desktops around 400?

hey there, i've been looking to buy a pre-built desktop, and i've decided to get one on black friday. the problem is, I can't find a good one.. they have good processors and memory (sometimes too much memory), but they seem to have bad or integrated graphic cards, which i am NOT looking for.. I just want to be able to multitask and be able to play some games occasionally.

Are there any decent desktops that fit the category? I've had my eye on acers for a while, but i recently found out most of them had integrated graphic cards, so i guess i won't be getting them.

oh, and by the way, i have about 550 bucks for the complete set (meaning monitor, tower, keyboard, etc.). So yeah, can anyone recommend me some good pre built computer? thanks in advance!

ps. I'm sorry if some of the stuff i said were wrong or contradictory, i'm not very knowledgeable about computers, that's why i'm asking you guys this haha

Not sure. I am not american, no idea how much discount you've got.
most $400 pre-build tower would only have onboard graphic. if you want to put video card, you would probably need to change the PSU as well.

if you build a tower yourself for slight gaming, you would looking at budget of $500, $650 for whole system
 
hmm.. would a core 2 duo be okay for this? i'm thinkin core 2 duo with 2.93 ghz from dell w/ a radeon 512 mb 4350HD video card..
 
Most people are against ebay on this forum, but for this price it may be your only option. Let me know if you are willing to buy off ebay, I can point you in the direction of a computer for your budget.
 
hmm, anyone know a decent desktop with a good graphics card or an adequate psu? I might just end up replacing the vid card in the end.. i might look into ebay, but that's my last resort, especially with black friday right around the corner.

and zblowfish, can you show me an example of a computer from ebay so i can see the price range/quality of the pcs? i've looked around on ebay and can't seem to find anything great..
 
Okay, since it will be too hard to build a low budget gaming pc, i'll just focus on pcs for my basic needs, such as editing, watching videos, and internet. Since black friday is vvery close, i've been able to find a lot of deals, but it's really hard to pick one. Can you guys help? haha

first up would be the $500 HP package from best buy. It comes with a 20" monitor and a free inkjet printer (which i don't need), with decent specs on the computer itself.. here's the link:

Second up is the Acer 23" full HD monitor($140) with the Compaq Presario($300), and with some altec speakers/subwoofers($20).

Oh, by the way I usually use the computer for minor video/photo editing, internet, videos, and a chatting program. I usually only multitask with internet and instant messenger, but might use photoshop along with it.. I don't know if the Athlon II x2 can hold up for the next few years either...

Your decisions in those deals are also horrible, because no one in their right mind would buy a computer with Windows. You do know that all Windows machine have a secret backdoor for the FBI?
