Not none cheap. ive bought many, HP Deskjet 110 Plus , still using a HP720 and D5160. You can buy cheap printers then they will get you on the ink.
If you live in the states there are some places like Walgreen that refills for $10.00. Not at full capacity though. some reason it does not work that way for what ever it is.
Years ago i did it myself. You can buy re-ink kits. not easy. it will destroy a printer. If you overfill it and put it in the printer it is party over. can still do though so many times. want to use cardboard, latex glove and shoot the ink slow but the kit has to be available for your printer. i do not do it anymore and have not because i buy them.
One other thought comes to mind. if and when your shopping for ink cartridges for your printer and you think you have a good deal you have to look at capacity. you might think here's a place to buy for $30.00. heres the same thing for $20.00 . whats the diff........might be capacity. i buy high capacity. just a thought when shopping. all i got.
