Cheap Labtop

I looking for a laptop to do basic school and work functions. It will not be playing games at all I got my desktop for that.

pretty much what it has to do it
.net studio (programming compilers)
office
visio
internet
web designering
macromedia flash

other requirements
floppy drive(external is ok)
cdrw drive
512 ram
40gb harddrive space

What the best place to buy a laptop like this for the best price. dell?hp?toshiba?gateway?

the cheaper the better as long as it can do everything I siad

I found one at dell that will do all this for $1,200 is that a decent price

Check on ebay for dell (or other) laptops. You can buy new or even good used for a fraction of a price.

maybe I get more replies this time. Instead of making a new thread on the same topic I dug up my old thread. My requirements are still the same and now am seriouly looking for a laptop.

So what laptop should I get. Let put the budget at 12,000 if it makes a big difference I might go as high as 1300 but 1300 would half to include shipping and tax. I will not spend a penny over 1300.
 
i'm not a big computer guy but that set up looks really decent for its price. if you are not into great battery life, get an amd processor (plus you already have one for your desktop). if you need battery power, go for a centrino laptop, and those at hpshopping.com are adequate i believe
