Hey, I am just wondering what the cheapest Core 2 Duo computer is someone can build. So build em, post em, and we'll see.

I could spec you a really cheap system, but it will have very low end components, but it will work with a Core 2 Duo.

What kind of things will you be needing the computer for?

I am just seeing the cheapest functioning Core 2 Duo system someone can make, for fun and for future reference, even if its low end.

Haha, that's about the same system I specified but I didn't post it because it looked too pathetic.

While a fully functioning inexpensive Core 2 Duo based computer will certainly have a good processor, an AMD build would get much more performance for ultra-low end setups. Spending less on a processor means that you can spend more on other critical parts of the computer (like memory). A computer is only as fast as its weakest component.
