Are you Indian?
Where do you live

Well i need all the basic parts to build a normal computer eg: motherboard, processor, hard drive .....etc (only desktop) but i want the cheapest parts possible.... All it needs to do is stay on for a week... Thanks

To mihir: Yes im indian :D

cpu: cheap amd...probably a low end athlon x2 would do it
mobo: asus 785G or eq
ram: a-data makes some cheap stuff
psu: rosewill can have some cheap and decent boxes in the stallion series
dvd: sony/nec make a cheapie dvd drive
hdd: wd blue...size is your pick
case: probably some sort of rosewill...tho im biased to the antec 300

All price approx in Canada

Athlon 245 2.9 AM3 $70
2GB / 1333 KVR1333D3N9/2G $55
ASUS M4N68T-M, AM3 (5200HTB), GeForce 7025/nForce 630A, mATX, 2 PCI/1 PCIe X16, GbE/SATA, 2 DC DDR3 $60
Seagate 250GB SATA2 8MB U300 $46
LG 22X DVDRW, SATA, Int. $25.00
Generic case and 350w ps $40
Total $296

What is the use of PC? It would be hard to beat the price from Pre-build company like acer/ compaq/ hp if you after a low end office machine.

lol the monitor is almost pricier than the rest of the components in there...id skip the sempron and get a full athlon tho...also if you buy a OEM cpu, remember you need a Heatsink...they do not come with one...midas well get a retail box chip for that...

if your buying one just for the experiance, their really is no point. i bought a old pc for £50 just to mess around with and test stuff out, but it didnt really give me the experiance you expect.

It may sound like a netbook, but it's actually a desktop Atom processor, get a cheap OS and VDU (or one you already own) and the sum of the parts comes to around £140 :)

yea, i kinda have to agree, kinda like throwing away money, if you want to do a first build, throw some money at it so its not something you just build and put off to the side
