Cheapest Decent Computer Possible

Looking for a cheap but yet decent computer and not sure where to go. I am aiming for $300 but seeing that will nearly be impossible i think going up to $400 will be the max.

I didnt see any decent prebuilts after a short short so here is what i decided as to build with. Not sure of the quality of parts or anything but its a start.

CPU + Mobo + Graphics: Athlon II x2 2.9 ghz, ECS A785GM-M7 AM3 AMD 785G mobo with radeon hd 4200. 86 after MIR.

I would always reccomend a namebrand PSU, as they can destroy your entire system if too cheap. Sorry, I was busy. I have to look up the list. Hold on.

lol yea they are under the antec's and PCP&C ones but still up there and should be fine with a system this cheap.

Any other parts you got any say on?

Two things I see immediately.
1. Do you have an SATA cable for your hdd?
2. Are you only getting one stick of that 2 gig ram? I would recommend getting two sticks of however much RAM, because that way it will have dual-channel.

1. Yea we got 2 broken computers so im sure ill have all the wires i need did a google of the ide and it looks the same.
2. For now yes, was planning on getting one later just to keep initial costs down.

OK. Sorry, I was mistaken, it is actually a SATA cord, I was speed reading. But if you think you have the correct cord anyways thats good. I don't have much experience with building computers from scratch, but that looks OK to me. But I would get input from other members, as they seem to find good deals and better options.

Oh and you do realize that you don't have a video card. Are you OK with onboard graphics?

Yea onboard will be fine otherwise i have a geforce 6200 until starcraft 2 comes out lol. IDK the performance difference of those so it would be nice if someone else could comment on that as well for me. :)
 
Mobo - ECS is not a really good brand. However, since you are in budget, no other option...

PSU - Although it is thermaltake, the spec not impress me. But again, since you are in budget, not going to argue.
