i recently overclocked my 2.7 procceser to 2.9 and it blew! were did i go rong
Thats not much of an overclock, probably not a very good cooling system, but i whonder what caused that flash of light? Idk if that could be the processor, i dont think it would flash. Maybe you pushed the power supply over the edge?

Well i don't see how the flash of light would come from the processor... maybe it was the ram being pushed too hard? Did you lower the memory divider?

is there any thermal paste on between the proc and fan??? My proc was at 73C at stock speed w/o thermal paste. I had to buy some more thermal paste, so i got artic silver 5 or maybe you didnt raise the vcore enough

haha i accidentally o/ced my 3400+ (awhile ago) to an outrageous o/c... i think the mobos max and it was fine tho lol :) lol

yea I think the flash of light might be due to PSU blowing up.
when my PSU blew it made a loud pop, a flash of light, and weird funky smell.
I replaced the PSU and it worked fine.

lol maybe the extra OC demanded too much of the psu and it overloaded, but it should have popped a fuse. hmmmm....

What is your power supply? Possible the 12V rail did not have enough amps to support the overclock. As a saftey feature, it should of automatically shut off.. unless it was a cheap one. Well, it's better it took it's own life than your whole computer which is often the case.
