I am going to be building a new computer for college and i wanted to know if these parts would work together, and whether or not you guys think this will end up being a decent rig.

the phenoms are kind of craptastic to tell the truth, like oscaryu said, try intel, might also help to post a budget

Go Intel. Intel quads own, and overclock so much better than Phenoms. For what I've heard, the new Phenoms aren't really that *bad*, so if you insist on going with AMD, sure, but they do absolutely suck at OCing compared to intels (I assume you plan on OCing since you're going with a balck edition?). I haven't kept up with the prices of AMD CPUs, how much are you paying for the Phenom? If you're getting it for cheap enough, might as well go for it, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Oh and where are you getting your parts from?

no, i don't need a monitor or keyboard or even a disk drive because i am taking all of that from my current computer. and i really have no problem with intel, in fact i prefer them, b ut newegg was having a bundle with this graphics card and mobo, so i figured why not.

actualy, since that is a little cheaper then i was going to spend, i think i might just order two of the 4G ram to get 8, would this work. and would it make a difference if i put another 100$ into the graphics card, if so do you have any suggestions

also, I am going to be using the s-video feed to use my 50 inch widscreen as a monitor, will this end up looking nice or will it be way to distorted to use?

There is no point for 8GB ram, because you won't see any difference. It is overkill. Currently, there is no game or an application that can really benefit from 8GB ram. So, it would be better if spend your money on a better video card or CPU (like Q9450)

Furthermore, you need a 64bit OS to use 4GB ram or more.
However, 32bit OS only use up to 3GB ram. So, if you have 4GB ram or more on 32-bit OS, then windows will see only 3GB ram
