Check My Site

Before I hand out my URL... I would like to get an OK from a moderator.

I just made my LAN site, and it will be posted on sites for LAN parties.

So I think I did a good job of setting it up. Still needs some small changes/updates.

But, I want to get some people from CF to make sure everything works, and theres no open door or something. Lol.

It would be through PM. But I want a mod to OK it first.

Thanks

PM me for the link

i doubt they will allow it,If they do then thats unfair because i posted a link to my website only in my sighniture and they asked me to remove it ;)

If your not trying to spam a forum or anything, theres nothing wrong with posting a link to your LAN site. Just ask us to read it over and tell you what we think, instead of just making a thread with the website url.

You don't have to do it through CF; I'm sure that you have enough CF IM contacts that you could do it through there.

No one is allowed to give out URLs unless to give example and help others ( that's what a mod told me for my sig).

So I guess you can't :P sorry

But im not a mod so maybe you will be able to show us your website :D

If it's purely to iron out technical glitches then i honestly can't see a problem with it. It's only if you post the link and simply say "Check this out" or "Look at my great site" thats promoting you're site.

ComputerForum.com exists to help people with issues on PC's and software etc... if you need help and need to show the symptoms of a problem then there is absolutely nothing wrong with including a link to the site.

As a side note, the link will be removed if it contains or links to any indecent material or if the content breaks any forum rules. So don't go testing out you're latest porn site or warez database

And yes, as Jet said, there are plenty other channels you could use other than just ComputerForum.com...

Alright.

It would be for looking for technical glitches, and vulnerabilities.

So would a PM be ok?

All it has is 3 pages, text, a forum, text.

I see no reason why it should be consigned to ONLY PM's, if it is for help on you're site than you can post it in the forum. Of course all the same rules apply to PM's as well so yes, a PM would also be ok

I hope everyone realises the difficulty involved in moderating the rule about no self promotion of web sites.
On the one hand: We have long standing members who would like to show of there sites and ask questions
on the other hand: we need to ensure the site stays clean
All the while: We need to keep our approach consistent to ensure it is fair to all

It can sometimes feel like trying to fit a square plug into a round hole

I thought like that.
Ive been here awhile, and I want to post a link.

I just need to see if its up to par to be posted on other LAN sites.

Thank You

then post it,
@Nevakonaza: Ill remove the link after a while
I dont wont to get into an argument about this so if you have a complaint then PM me
