Hey, this is my log you guys. My computer just feels glitchy. It's strange. If you could check this for me that would be great.

No items seen here. What do you mean by "glitchy"? Don't forget a log only shows a small portion of the registry.

O I know.
Honestly, I can't really put my finger on it yet. It just doesn't feel right.

I also done all the normal scans. Including regseeker. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

Thanks

Bob

What besides AIM and Messenger do you have active? If you check out the msconfig and not to much is set to start along with Windows run a few things like another reg cleaner or spyware tool. Besides a loose driver being loaded sometimes you'll find something hidden on the drive. Have you made any recent software changes? I had to put Roxio back on here  ! due to Deep Burner not being able to use the dvd burner to burn a Vista iso image. There's always something.

Well I keep my computer extremely clean. And have no programs installed unless I use them.

The only software changes I've made was daemon tools, however I don't think thats the problem.

You could the system file checker to see any system files got a little goofed up somehow. You would need the installation disk onhand in case the utility needs to repair or replace a file or two. It can seem like a nuisance at times to run it. But you can have a file or two done in and not know it since Windows will seem to load normally. For that type "sfc /scannow" at the Run prompt and press the enter key. Give that a try.

Ditto...Scan for missing or corrupt windows files and try updating your drivers.

Another thing you could try is system mechanic, you can use it for free for 30 days and it has alot of useful tools in it. http://www.itred.com/smpro.htm

Another thing also how long has it been since you did a complete format and reinstall? I would recommend backing up all your stuff and start from fresh like once a year...even though you think your PC is clean (IT"S NOT) windows will collect garbage files over time that you cannot clean.

DITTO? Guess again! Over a period of time and numerous software changes you can find that crosslinks to system files are not uncommon. Often you may even knock one out of the picture. A program like CCleaner can help remove a ton of useless files as long as you know what they are. Regular deletion of offline content((accumilation of useless crap there too) can help free up drive space needed for swap file use by Windows. Keeping the drive from fragmentation helps too. Some freewares seem to outdo some programs like System Mechanic and Registry Mechanic alike.

DITTO? Guess again! (GUESS AGAIN) I use both ccleaner and winows washer on a regular basis and they do a great job of finding alot of useless files but they dont find them all and be it a year, two years or even five depending on how much you use your pc they do build up and cause issues. You can run all the cleaning programs you want on say a five yr old computer and it will not run as good as a fresh install, the reason being it is not just the crap files that take up space but all the changes to the registry, missing files, corrupt files, driver incompatibilities ect ect. You can spend three days downloading and trying out different freeware programs that may or may not help or you can just do a fresh install in 3 hours, your choice

DITTO has more to do with having an installation disk to start off with? If you plan to run an older system that doesn't support XP you would need one for the original or older version prior to XP that is best suited for it. That's called repairing the current installation if you don't have an OS to go on.
