Checking the last time a program/document was launched

Lets say i have programs and documents on my computer created many years ago. I want to see when was the last time they were actually opened, is there a way i can check or a program i can download that will allow me to see the date and times? I am running windows 7.
 
Do you mean more than right clicking on the program or file in question, selecting properties and looking at created, accessed, modified entries in properties?
