Checksum Error

Today i booted up my computer and the bios screen stopped and said 'checksum error press f1 to continue'

is this a dying mobo or some other type of hardware or software issue?

I've made no hardware or software changes recently it just came right out of the blue.

Your CMOS battery is probably dead, replacing it will fix it.

I always thought they got recharged ever time you start the computer

everything has a life span just replace the battery and it should work fine if you dont replace the battery you will find that the time and date will be wrong

Changed the battery, and it booted up fine this time....thanks

I am getting a checksum error on an asus a8n32-sli board. I got this error the first time I installed the board. I replaced the battery and Im still getting the error. It comes up with a bios checksum error. Can someone help. If I download bios and put the cd in, do you think it will load up?
