Just a quick question.

Would having an NForce Chipset degrade my performance if im running ATi Graphics?

kthanks :good:

Some chipsets may perform better than others, but simply having conflicting brands makes no difference with regards to your video performance.

Ok sweet i was thinking of getting this

Motherboard & CPU

And i have an ATi 4890 and was thinking of upgrading to a ATi 5870 soon. One last question though which Chipset is better? 790FX From AMD or the nForce 780a Just before i buy that motherboard :P

I would recommend staying all AMD/ATI...why not? That would just feel weird throwing Nvidia into the mix:)

Have you thought about getting an AM3 socket processor? Here is one just a bit more than the one you selected.

You can get an Asus evo for about 85

That will save a bunch of money on the motherboard for some DDR3 RAM:D Maybe you can check ebay for decent priced RAM.

Id prefer to stick with AM2+ i dont really like AM3 its not all that great and i didnt really want to buy new RAM either AND the nForce chipset is better that the 790FX chipset so ima stick with my choice but thanks for the recomendation! :)

Makes sense really...you already have Dominator RAM.

Just giving you something to think about:D

I'm not so sure about that.

Looks to me like the nForce 780a chipset only has 16 lanes for graphics, meaning one card would get 16x, two cards would get 8x/8x, and three cards would get 8x/4x/4x

The 790FX chipset has 32 lanes dedicated to graphics. While only two slots, you could run dual GPU cards at 16x/16x.

If I'm reading that right...

I was just reading THIS article, It has graphs showing that the performance is better in the nForce chip that the AMD one maybe i should do more research :P

You have a 4890, and already wan't to upgrade!? Doesn't that card do everything you wan't it to do.

That statement makes me queiry whether or not to buy one or wait.. lol
