choice of processor

[supernoobie]

I asked for a comp built awhile back, and both builds recommended me to use the quad core intel q6600.

I'm just wondering, wouldn't it be better if I get a better duo core processor since I really am not going to use all 4 cores from the quad core?

recommendations please =D

In most cases yes, a C2D will serve the average user better than a C2Q.

the quad core is what everyone is getting now, depending on the budget of course, but the a lot of things coming out today are using quads.
