choosing a card

Hi should i get a video card with a core clock of 650mhz and 2gb memory
or a video card with a core clock of 800mhz and 1gb memory.
( both have the same amount of stream proccesors: 480 )
im asking which one would be more powerful and better performance

Can you link us to the cards that you are looking at and your budget for a new GPU? Also can you give us the make and model of your power supply?

So the 2gb doesnt make much of a difference?? the core clock give more of a difference? what if i overclock the 2gb to 750mhz, then would it be as good as the 6670?
im looking to play mw3 high settings and bf3 medium to maybe high

Generally 1 gb is enough to play any game. You start to need over 1gb when you go to multiple monitors or a HD+ resolution (like 2560x1600...) BF3 uses more than 1gb but the game engine has been coded really well and it does not need over a gb to function properly. I forgot to ask. What resolution are you playing at? I don't really think that that card will give great performance in BF3 at HD resolutions.

Edit: Can you post the full specs of your PC? Please include the power supply.

1040X1280
so the second card is better even if i overclock the 1st?? will the for play bf3 medium settings at my resolution?

If you matched the clock speeds of the 2 cards. The card with 2gb would have the chance of performing better. However, there are other limitations that will get in the way and cause performance issues well before you get to running out of VRAM.

These cards do not have proper cooling to be overclocking. Especially not the 150MHz that you are looking to get to match the core speed of the 6670.

At that resolution, medium would probably be achievable. Depending on the levels of AF and AA that you are using.

I would still like to hear the rest of your specs if you can get them for me.

No this is a pc i built myself. Its a thermaltake psu. It had like 2000 good reviews on newegg.
So long story short, 6670 is better than 6570?
and what kind of performance will i get with a 6570 1gb?
and will the 6670 play gta iv ultra settings?

Well that would have been information that I would have liked to know in the beginning. :/

Long story short. Yes. 6670 > 6570

I would expect medium/low for frames 45-60

GTA IV is AFAIK is a bad console port and needs a quad core to function properly at higher settings. Long story short. No.

No i built it myself.
ITs a thermaltake psu.
so long story short a 6670 is better than a 6570 2gb?
and how would a 6570 gb perfrom?
and would the 6670 be able to play gta iv ultra settings?

a 1gb 6570 is going to perform the exact same as the 2gb one. also, really, the only difference between the 66 and the 65 seems to be that 150mhz. 150 mhz isn't a huge difference, so for that 10 bucks the frame rate difference will probably be 4 or 5 or a little more, but not even 10 frames for 10 bucks. That said, the difference from the 6670 to that 6770 should be a good bit if you can afford it.

looked it up a little more and the 6670 also appears to have a 100mhz higher memory clock, so that's going to help it a good bit, i'd expect more like a 10-15 fps difference actually.

not against PC players. Mouse and keyobard are far more responsive and accurate than a controller. You would be at a huge disadvantage.

@jonnyp11: That's what I was finding too.

Yes, but my ram clock is 1333 mhz so wouldnt the video card memmory only go to 1333?
and how much more fps would i get if if got 4gb more ram = total of 8

I do not think that statement is accurate. And you'd be better off putting that money towards a better graphics card.
