Choosing a Laptop for a Friend

One of my good friends has asked me for some help in choosing a laptop for light gaming like Skyrim, as well as running modeling and animating programs. He also does coding.

His budget is 900 dollars.

I was thinking of the Lenovo Y50, but I'm not sure its the best.

He hopes it will last him at least 5 years

Y50 looks good but I'm going to recommend something else because it only has 500GB of storage.

Same processor and graphics (including 1080p).

But it comes with an extra 8GB of RAM, and 500GB of storage (1TB total).
Only downside is that there's no backlight keyboard for gaming at night..

You can get the Y50 with a 1TB SSHD and 16GB RAM - most come with 8 but that's fine: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/lenovo/y-series/y50/

I prefer Lenovo to Asus - build quality being the reason why.

I prefer Dell Inspiron series, for the game, i think Inspiron 7000 series will be good.

Ive had pretty bad experiences with Dell's feel like they are all made of plastic. Turns out the Y50 and that Asus one that C4C linked are a bit too pricey for him.

Would something like this work? Its still got a GTX 860M and a i7
