After hearing the great reviews of the Intel Core2Duo E6600 processor, I was wondering what motherboard would be best paired with it.
As I am building a new computer, it doesn't matter what type of motherboard, but I would prefer to have on-board 7.1 channel audio. I don't need on-board video, I will be using my own card, and I would prefer it to have firewire ports, but adding a firewire PCI card won't be too much trouble.
So, all I need really is a simple motherboard with on-board audio, USB, Ethernet, and mouse and keyboard ports, that I can fit an Intel E6600 into.
I probably will only be running 2GB of RAM, but would like expandability up to 4GB. I am not sure if this matters, but I will be running two disc drives and possibly two harddrives. PCI-e or AGP slot also needed for external video.
