I've done much research but for some reason all the info doesn't stick with me. So I'm on here hoping some of y'all can help a girl out, because my brother (who is the computer wise one in the family) keeps telling me I need the most powerful possible which I definitely don't need.
So here is what I got down so far - and I don't know what much of it means just that I should try looking for these things when I'm at the local computer store:
Is there anything else I should look for? I’m not a heavy gamer but I do play some things like civ, sims, etc. I’ll mostly use the computer for Photoshop and other software that allows me to create digital art so I need something that can keep up with high resolution while running other things like the internet and itunes.
Any recommendation on what computer to get would be appreciated (are Dell and HP any good?). Hopefully I can find something $600-$1000.

- Hardrive: atleast 500 GB
