Choosing between harddrives

I need a new harddrive, as I have filled up my old 30g one that came with my dell inspiron 8500 laptop. I found two that i think will work, but i'd like the advice of someone who knows what they're doing. these are the one's i'm looking at, can you verify that either will work? Dell's
Western Digital's
i notice that dell's has "44 Pin PC ATA-6 Interface" while the other is "44-pin EIDE" what does that mean?
