I thought since i just made a post of MY buying a computer that it would help others buy have a sorta flow chart. So my needs are a budget of 1100 max without shipping. i can go over by 50 dollars but no more. I want to be able to play all the recent and upcoming games at allright graphics. Maybe not all on high, but al least some. I do lots of video editing(not extreme but enough to be convert about six video at a time to all idfferent formats. I want a speedy computer that'll last for about 3-5 years before getting a neew one. No problem with either laptop or desktop. No wireless card inside computer. Vista os(please not home or basic..PLEASE) 64 bit system so 4 gb ram. Sound card donst matter. HD space has to be 500 or more. If possible raid 1 with 320 or 350 gb on each hard drive. Now i will ask a question and give reasons why because i dont want to amke a mistake. And i will not build it!!!

1. Laptop or Desktop
2. Proccesor(looking at Core 2 Dou extreme, any quad core, or i7)
3. Major brand(dell ho compaq) or side brand(alienware, cyberpowerpc)
4 Ebay or online retailer(not store)
5. I don't know about radeon, b ut i want geforce 9800 GTX+
sould i get higher or switch to other brand. 100 series is a ossiblity.
6 4gb of reg ram of corsair domitnator.
7 Stock fan or aftermarket
8 Case has to ahve window(looks cool) which one(fan control is preffreed.

Thanks

1. Laptop or Desktop
Desktop

2. Proccesor(looking at Core 2 Dou extreme, any quad core, or i7)
Core i7/ Core2 quad/ Phenom II x4, depends on budget.

3. Major brand(dell ho compaq) or side brand(alienware, cyberpowerpc)
brands like CyberpowerPC / ibuypower would be easiler to upgrade

4 Ebay or online retailer(not store)
online retailer. you could go to ebay if you know what exactly you want.

5. I don't know about radeon, b ut i want geforce 9800 GTX+
sould i get higher or switch to other brand. 100 series is a ossiblity.

9800 GTX+ ~ ATI HD4850

6 4gb of reg ram of corsair domitnator.
I don't think brand of RAM is important.

7 Stock fan or aftermarket

Use aftermarket if you want to overclock the CPU

8 Case has to ahve window(looks cool) which one(fan control is preffreed.
you could go for cyberpowerpc/ ibuypower to choose it yourself, but it could be expensive.

i would say out of those get the top or the second one. top one is the best but if you want to save a bit get the second one

First one would be best if you dont need a monitor. If you need a monitor the second one would give you 240-290 to spend on one.
