Now stop being a cry baby because you did not get the answer you looking for and next time you ask a question just to make yourself feel better do it someplace else.

Now that you've made yourself feel like a big boy by trying to sounds like a bad ass over the internet, can I say that I think you mis-understood what I meant? The point I was trying to make is/was that I already made the purchase, and I didn't/don't see the point of him belittling what I got (again, he did this after I said I had already purchased the compuer). I didn't come here to 'feel' good about my purchase and have people say, "good purchase dude". I came her for an honest opinion, and that's what I got. But, what's the point of saying that I made a bad purchase AFTER I'd already made it? To make himself look better and/or smarter than me? If that's what it takes to give him, or anyone else, self confidence, than they can go ahead and do that all day long.

well, no, the thing is, most OEM computers (Dell, HP, Compaq, gateway, ect.) are built with cheap crappy stuff, and if you try to upgrade anything it void some kinf of warrenty... and no, your computer ain't getting fixed in an hours time, my moms $3000 viao desktoptook them over a month to repair (faulty CPU, but you know them, they *have* to troubleshoot EVERYTHING IN THE BOOK, so its not a quick come in , browse some dvd titles, then leave with your fixed computer... its more like, come in.... WATCH every movie title, then ask if its done, they tell you they will call you.) point being, your tech support is better then all of them out there if you know what your doing. I.E. call tech support, wait 20 minuets +, then tell them your info for 5 minuets, then hold for another 2ish, then get some arabic guy who you cant friggen understand, then have him walk you through fixing your computer.... something breakes in your home built computer.... i fried my mobo, and within a week im back to overclocking like hell... and shit, even made $2 from the experiance (they covered my shipping charded of $8 and i only paid 6 :P) if you have the ability to build your own computer, i strongly advise you taking that back and building your own

Since I work at Best Buy, it will get fixed in an hour ;) . There are also several specific ways in which you can do just about anything to the computer (according to my warranty). Hardware and software modifications can be made by a Best Buy employee at Best Buy. OverClocking is the only thing that outrights voids the warranty.

Ok so... since you got the system, any critique of the system is thus deemed rude and generically "bad" ... so ... as soon as one person has seen a movie ... any critique of that movie is thus deemed "bad"?

There's nothing wrong with buying the system you bought -- as long as YOU"RE happy with it, thats all that matters. What everyone else has come to realize is that well.. you could have gotten a better deal.

And to your question (But, what's the point of saying that I made a bad purchase AFTER I'd already made it?) ... as much as I'm a fan of natural selection and all ... whats the point of teachers and tutors? [1] To teach us crap and [2] to tell us when we've made a mistake. Now whether we want to get defensive about it (and i dont blame you -- you forked over good money for it) is actually quite inconsequential.

Well, in installed a new HDD and XP Pro onto my dell Optiplex GX240, and Dell wouldent even touch it anymore.... lol

In all honesty, I think your being a little rude. I know you could match the price, but (for lack of a better term) I don't care. I am the type of person who likes to have a service pack with the computer in case something goes wrong. I'm in college and don't have the money to buy a replacement processor - so instead, I paid 100 bucks and got 3 years un-limited parts and labor. You might be able to go out and spend a ton of money when something breaks, but I certainly can't do that. I use my computer a TON, for both school and gaming; and I'm more than certain that within the next 3 years, something is going to go wrong.

On the software side of things, I don't have a ton of money to go out and but Microsoft XP pro, and Ulead stuff - I got both free with my PC, and I used them a LOT on my old computer. For me, it was a good deal. I mean, software isn't cheap.
1.with all the money you save you wuld have enough.
2.you could find it hell of alot cheaper with a warrenty too ;)

With this statement, we've come to an understanding. I do agree with what you said here. I just got a little defensive when you said my computer was made with crappy parts.

Im glad that's been resolved: if you hang around or hunt through my posts you'll find my comments and critiques (regardless of how harsh) are almost entirely technical -- I recognize the role that OEMs play in the industry but my critique is simply based of the performance of the parts -- it's very difficult to quantify the value of user satisfaction (i.e., give me a dollar value for your satisfaction and ill consider it into my budget). From a technical point (which is what ive been nailing all along), my box IS superior and it IS cheaper HOWEVER I do understand that YES you do DO want the assurance of a walk-in-warranty but since my comments were entirely technical to begin with, it's very hard to quantify that
