A lot of people have Chrome and FireFox. I just swithced over to Chrome for the speed but miss some things of firefox. The main thing i miss is the auto search feature on firefox.

example.

In chrome is you type in "imdb the expendables" it takes you to the google (or whichever your default search site is) search page for "imdb the expendables".

However in Firefox if you type in "imdb the expendables" it takes you the the The Expendables page on IMDB.

does anyone know of a extension for chrome that does this same thing or is it a firefox only thing?

What you're looking for is here: http://blog.xmlgadgets.com/google/search-any-website-from-google-chromes-address-bar-directly/

How to try this ?

I have searched Wikipedia for any query through Google Chrome atleast once.
When I did this, Google Chrome automatically identifies the query variable (“search=” and any hidden variable “language=en”) for this site (Wikipedia), and also the search form action page (http://www.wikipedia.org/search-redirect.php)

This helps me, for the next time I want to search Wikipedia.org, through Google’s Chrome browser.

Say, I want to search Wikipedia for “A.R.Rahman”.

1. I am opening Google Chrome, and start typing “wiki”, Chrome suggests wikipedia.org.

And also gives me a short cut to search wikipedia.org (Press tab to search Wikipedia.org)

2. When I press tab key, it asks for search string,

3. I type “A.R. Rahman” in it, and hit enter

4. Chrome now forms the url “http://www.wikipedia.org/search-redirect.php?search=A.R.Rahman&language=en” , which directs us to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A.R.Rahman
