Civilization 5 question

I am getting black screen when I start this game.
My specs are i7 2630QM, GT 540M, why am I getting black screen after starting the game?
My drivers are all updated too.

Are you starting in DX9 or DX10/11 mode? The DX10/11 mode is a bit buggier than DX9 and I always play it in DX9.

Also, a few other notes:

1. Do not play with more than 8 players on any size map for multiplayer (and possibly single player) as it causes the game to hang after the 3rd or 4th turn.
2. Do not play the "Huge" map size on multiplayer, it causes sync issues where tiles are not the same for all players and again causes the game to hang on the 3rd or 4th turn.
3. There is also some graphical glitches that you will notice throughout the game, it is inevitable and unfortunate.

If you have any other questions on Civ 5, I play it quite a bit...

I played it and worked fine, nice game. But the main thing is missing, I want to play it multiplayer but the INTERNET option appears to be disabled.
