clean sweep

Well you can do a repair install of Windows. You will still have all your data, and you won't have to buy Windows again, but all your settings will be lost and you may have to re-install some programs. That's about as close to new as you want to go without formatting.

An easier but less efficient clean is a simple defrag, un-install of all unimportant programs, reset all your settings to default and re-configure everything.
