Cleaning fan in laptop

I have a Toshiba Qosmio x305 gaming laptop and i was wondering if anyone out there had a link to a page or video on how to get to the internal fans. I think it needs a good cleaning. It recently started getting soo hot that it shuts itself off even when i have it on a cooling pad. I have had to start placing a couple of books under both edges of it to lift it up off the table and place a desk fan behind it blowing a constant stream of air across the back and under the laptop to keep it cool enough to play skyrim. Do you think dust build up is the problem or that the new games coming out are just taxing they system almost to its limit causing excess heat build up? I know it getting outdated fast but still manages meet the minimum requirements of everything I play.

Compressed air is your best bet. Blow the air through all your vents, both directions, with the machine turned off. It might be a good idea to direct a little air through the keyboard, too, to dislodge hair, dust, etc out of it.

You can get cans of spray air at your local computer parts vendor or office supplies store. If you have access to a low-pressure (>125psi) compressor with a blower nozzle, that works, too.

I have an airbrush attached to 80psi air at work and I have to blow the dust out of my laptop at least monthly.

... then again, I live in a desert.

i found a page on how to dissasimble it and acording to the page the gpu and cpu are removable and replaceable so i am now wondering where i can get a new nVidia 560m gpu to put it in? Newegg has the I5 cpu but they dont have any gpu's

That's because you can't go through normal channels to get laptop GPU's. Best bet would be eBay.

ok i found some for sale on ebay. how can i tell if it will fit in my laptop? I havent been able to find any info on a socket type or anything like that. And I seen alot of the sellers not taking returns if it wont fit so I dont want to risk it if it wont.

I'm going to stop you right there. I looked up that model Qosmio. It came with a C2D, which is a different socket than the i5. And it seems the 9800GTX is the highest GPU available in that laptop.
