Cleaning my screen

I have finger prints and smudges on my screen from trying to clean it and i cant get it off without making it smudge more. only visible when when off and sometimes when angled. how can i clean it without add to the smudges. do i have to use alcohol or something?

I know people say not to use windex on a screen, but that's what I use. But don't soak it. I just barely mist the screen, or use a damp cloth. Maybe if you clean something else with windex(like a mirror that's not too dirty) you can just use that...

Well, what kind of screen is it? CRT monitor? LCD? TFT? etc.

Dude Cmon now...... just come over ill give you a special cleaning rag that is used to clean the monitor. Its sooooo great I LOVE IT
