Cleaning up my aunts computer

At my aunties and cleaning up her comp. She has norton 360 and i don't think it's doing very much. Below is an mbam log, i removed the infections, hjt log to follow.

Help me clean up this comp, its got an E6550 and 4GB of DDR2 (Dell Optiplex 755) and it's running like a dog.

EDIT: She's also using some "Pc Fix 2010" software that her friend recommended. a paid version. :o

Patience is of virtue Mr linkin :P i'm sure john isn't far away as he never is :)

Just had a quick look through nothing that looks hugely worrying a few toolbars here and there and a few programs i am not sure on but just wait till john gets here and looks through it.
 
while you are waiting i'd suggest running (super-anti-spyware, spybot search and destroy and possibly avast) then if it finds anything update the logg and post back
 
Well I re-ran mbam and it didnt find anything, also used ccleaner to clean out the temp files and such.
 
Sorry for not posting last night as I was on at the time you posted but was trying to configure a build for one of my clients.

First, I would uninstall that pc fix 2010 as thos programs can't be trusted. Then download and run combofix as you still have toolbar entries that need to be removed (alot toolbar) and hopefully it will find other entries.

Also its running outdated java and needs to be updated.

Please download JavaRa to your desktop and unzip it to its own folder
  • Run JavaRa.exe, pick the language of your choice and click Select. Then click Remove Older Versions.
  • Accept any prompts.
  • Open JavaRa.exe again and select Search For Updates.
  • Select Update Using Sun Java's Website then click Search and click on the Open Webpage button. Download and install the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version for your computer.
Download and Run ComboFix
If you already have Combofix, please delete this copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.


In your next reply please post:
  • The ComboFix log
  • A fresh HiJackThis log
  • An update on how your computer is running

You should also post an uninstall list either using ccleaner or hijackthis as the pc may have other software installed on it that is not needed.

I have to go to work in a couple hours but will reply later on tonight.
