Cleaning Water Block

I have a swiftech apogee GT cpu block here and as i was cleaning out my cooling system i noticed that the copper block with the small needles inside has some grind and particles stuck in it which will not come out. Is it safe if i submerse the copper bottom part in hot vinigar for a while and see if it cleans it out? What else can i use? Hot distilled water did nothing.
 
Get a toothbrush and work it, it should come off after a LOT of hard rubbing, i wouldnt use vinegar, its supposedly good to flush radiators with, but thermochill have now stated that it shouldnt be used
 
Thanks guys the toothbrush worked like a charm.... Only thing left to lean is my radiator. BUt since vinagar isnt a good idea what do i use?
