clearing hard drive

wanted to wipe my hard drive and start from scratch but when i go into windows set up there is no partition any ideas on how to get the drive to appear so i can format it ?
 
is the hard drive SATA? ive had this problem where it just doesnt show up, try pluggin it into another SATA port on the motherboard... duno why it did this with my old mobo and my new one.
