Last night I received an email from [email protected] with the subject line "Important Legal Notice Regarding Your Google AdWords Account". The body of the email was this, translated into practically every language known to man.

This court-ordered notice may affect your legal rights. Please read it carefully. If you purchased online advertising from Google between January 1, 2002 and the present, you are a class member in a class-action lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Miller County, Arkansas. This notice is to inform you of the Court’s certification of a class; the nature of the claims alleged; your right to participate in, or exclude yourself from, the class; a proposed settlement; and how you can claim an award of advertising credits under the settlement. Please read the attached notice.

The attached notice is this.

What's going on with this? Am I to expect some money from Google regarding click fraud? I haven't used Google Adwords for ages now, does anybody know the whole deal with this? It may be big news in the States, but nothing's been said in the British media.

Google

Google and its legalities have been a thought teaser of mine for a LOOOONG time, with recent new revealing their use of recording information in assisting federal police in investigations.

I tried to open your link to the PDF, but it wouldn't open (webpage came up blank). I would be more than happy to sort through some legal "mumbo-jumbo" for you, as i find this kind of stuff most interesting!

I'm not sure why the file link doesn't work, anyway, I've converted it to a Word document here, that should work all being well.

I kinda get the gist that I'll be receiving a proportional amount of the legal settlement, but I'm not sure whether it'll be worth me claiming, I think I only spent less than £10 on advertising at a time when I was experimenting with affiliate websites.

okay, i am beginnig to see through this, but it is a bit hard when it opens like this...

from the Court\'92s approval of the settlement, awards of credits will not occur until the appeal is resolved.

What did i do wrong???

Um, that's....er....very weird. I've tested the uploads I made by downloading them again to my machine. Both the .pdf and the .doc seem to work fine. Third time lucky, I've zipped both files up and uploaded them direct to the forum, if this doesn't work I think I'll give up. :P
