I run a mvaw scan every few days and this always comes up in

Sat Mar 25 15:56:33 2006 => Offending file found: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\gtek\gtupdate\aupdate\channels\channels.ini
Sat Mar 25 15:56:33 2006 => System found infected with clipgenie Spyware/Adware (channels.ini)! Action taken: No Action Taken.

so i get rid of it every time by finding the file and deleting it then i reboot and with 48 hours it back. also what program is that infecting?

& how can i stop this from keeping infecting my system thanks

well obviously it has a registry link as well and has a backgorund process connecting to the internet to fix itself.
Lets look into
C: \ Program Files \ ClipGenie
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ ClipGenie

for starters, im sure there would be additional keys or files to be deleted.

1. Click Start > Run.
2. Type regedit

Then click OK.

3. Navigate to and delete the following keys if they exist:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\TrayNotifier\ClipGenie
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ClipGenie
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ClipGenie

4. Exit the Registry Editor.

also find and delete the following:
freewire
webinstall.exe
clipgenie.cab
spyware setups\\spyware setups\\swimsuitnetwork\

Run a normal Anti-spyware software to remove any traces if found.
