Hi,
I have a macbook pro which came with a 250GB hdd. I have bought a 500GB HDD and cloned to 250gb to the 500gb, but the cloning didn't work as i hoped it too. What i want to know is how to i prepare the HDD for a complete reinstall of Snow leopard? Do i have to format the drive first or what?

Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks

Mac recovery

Install the OS to the new drive then hook up the old drive via usb or what ever means you have availale firewire etc. The operating system will recognize it as mac drive and prompt you to transfer the data. It should get you very close to your old configuration and migrate all your data.

Cheers
