Hey, here is the thing:

I have a laptop and a computer and on both desktop (one is running ubuntu and the other Windows) I have a folder containing my school files (pdfs etc). I want upload them somewhere and sync them so that everytime I add a file on one of my computers, it will be added online and at the same time, everytime a file is added online, it'll be downloaded to the desktop/laptop that doesn't have it.
I think this could work with Cloud softwares. So far I've tried Ubuntu One which allows me to have 5GB, but I haven't succeeded in choosing the right options to make it work yet... Is there anything better?
 
I use ubuntu one now between my desktop and laptop works just fine for me as long as the PCs that you are syncing between are both Ubuntu systems. The downloadable application is decent on other OSes but not nearly as good as it is on Ubuntu.

I've never used it but a lot of my coworkers use dropbox. It looks like it has a .deb package for Ubuntu and installers for Mac and Windows as well

I will have to take a closer look at how it works then, I'm still uploading to my cloud at the moment.
 
Does Dropbox support Linux? If so, that's the ideal solution, I've used it to do what you want on Mac, PC, and Android.
 
I also say dropbox. Support for Linux, Windows, Mac, Android, and IOS. So you can sync everything to all devices at the same time.

Plus it's free
 
Ubunutu One gives me 5GB storage while Dropbox only 1GB... Both can be extended by referrals.

My file is already 4.7GB so I guess Ubuntu One... I'll take a closer look at it today and let you know how it is.

You get lots of storage by participating in their features, like 500MB for enabling photo uploading, another 250MB for tweeting about Dropbox, etc. I have 57GB in my Dropbox for doing all this for free.

I guess I'll have to look into Dropbox too then :D
 
It's pretty easy to get more space with dropbox. If you have more then one email you can send your self referrals and get more space pretty easy.
