Cluster Beyond End

Hey All, (Newbie here!)
Just having problems with my Wester Digital HDD... I used Norton Partition Magic to merge 2 partitions together. Halfway through the process it stopped claiming an error 'Cluster Beyond End' (Error Code:1523)
Anyway, i managed to be able to access the partition being merged to, but the one being merged is now labeled ?m?, NTFS value 0.0 (meaning i'm unable to merge to another partition) and i have no way of accessing it.

I can't run windows chkdsk, however Western Digitals own Data LifeGuard returns no errors.....

Any advice at all?

Oh, and i REALLY don't want to format. :confused:

I ran scan disk after finally playing with it enough to allow me to.

New problem. My Document has now been totally ruined...Every file is now in found.000 and has incorrect path names, file types... everything...

Anyone got some help to offer?
 
Copy and backup everything... I suggest putting them in your yahoo or gmail account in an archive folder :) Then reformat.. it wont take that long. Either way you shoudl back the stuff up.
