hey all,

whats the longest anyone here has had a CMOS battery live for?

ive had the same one in my system for about 4 years now and i havnt had to replace it yet :D

pretty amazing how long a little battery like that can live for:D

isnt lt like every 3 years or so you should replace it?

My servers battery lived for a good 10 years. Granted, it could have died and and my cmos was setting itself to default every time it started up and I didnt notice :P.

I have never had a system longer than 5 years, so I would have to say 5 years. I have never had to replace a battery.

My old Pentium 75 system seemed to be fine last I used it, it's got to be around 15 years old. I don't get any checksum errors or anything so I assume it's still good, I haven't powered it on for a couple years now though

Pentium 166MHz still running strong, wether the orig battery was in there, dunno, but still...

Pentium 200MHz compaq Presario w/ origional battery STILL running strong (I dunno if this even has an BIOS... never could find it... but it must have one, as the battery is soldered to the motherboard :P)
