CMOS needed to be cleared?

My PC runs 24/7. Today I came home and it was off. Tried hitting the power button to no avail, and then I cleared the CMOS via jumper, and now it works again. Is this a warning sign that something may be failing?

What does it say... the error message exactly?

It can mean different things. Did you get an error message?

Thanks guys. Ill start with the battery. Everything was running fine until this happened. It just happened again overnight. The battery that was in it was only a few months old however, so I am a bit concerned.

i had a similar problem with my cmos not keeping my settings and replacing that pesky little battery fixed it. Strange, I know.

What really concerns me is that my computer is turning off and won't go back on until I reset the CMOS. I guess I'll start the process of replacing hardware. I'll start with the PSU.
